It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Pierre Véronneau, a former curator and later head of collections at the Cinémathèque québécoise, where he worked from 1973 to 2010. For many years, Pierre was a familiar figure at FIAF Congresses, where he often accompanied Robert Daudelin. In the 1980s, he worked with his colleague René Beauclair on the FIAF project of a 'catalogue of silent film equipment catalogues'. He was later involved in the FIAF Cataloguing and Documentation Commission, from 2007 to 2011. He also signed many articles and reviews in the Journal of Film Preservation over the years. As well as an key figure in the history of the Cinémathèque québécoise, Pierre was also a noted historian of Canadian and Québécois cinéma.

The Cinémathèque québécoise released this annoucement (in French only) about Pierre Véronneau's passing.
