FIAF Affiliation History Database and Map

This new resource helps locate – chronologically and geographically – all current and past FIAF affiliates as well as their different affiliation categories over time, from 1938 to the present day. A double search engine (below) allows you to search the database either by keyword (e. g. institution name(s), city, country) and/or by date. Each search will generate two levels of information. The search results are organized as a list of affiliates fitting the query criterion (for instance all FIAF affiliates in a specific city or country, and/or at a specific date). You can then access each affiliate’s full record, which includes reliable information relating to its FIAF affiliation and successive affiliation categories, and its various names and known locations.

In addition, an interactive map allows you to visualize the geographical location of FIAF affiliates by affiliation category in any given year, by positioning the chronological cursor in the legend on that particular year. By moving the cursor sideways, you can visualize the evolution of FIAF’s global network since its beginnings more than 80 years ago.

You will find more detailed explanatory note about this research project HERE.
