ACE's Season of Classic Films: Free Worldwide Screening of Sanz y el secreto de su arte

The film Sanz y el secreto de su arte (1918, dir. M. Thous and F. Sanz, 65’, with English subtitles) will be screened on Friday 5 February at 18:00 CET with live music, as part of the ACE’s Season of Classic Films.

Francisco Sanz Baldoví (1872-1939) wanted to create the perfect automaton, a robot, which would realistically assimilate human movements. Sanz became famous for his exquisite automata collection, making the media of his time claim that he had the best robot in the world.

The film presents his artwork, uniting fiction and documentary elements. The main character, automaton Don Liborio, will escape to the city and mingle with real people.

The screening will be freely accessible worldwide via the YouTube channel of the Institut Valencià de Cultura. A limited audience will have the opportunity to attend the event at the Filmoteca’s cinema in Valencia, according to the latest safety regulations.
