Preparatory tasks, including the following:
- Questionnaire on systems, use of EN 19507, use of the Manual, etc, and a selected example for discussion in the online session.
- Reading: relevant sections of the Manual (required); Newsreels in Film Archives (recommended).
- A slide presentation.
- An exercise in cataloguing a newsreel.

- Introduction: Introducing the trainers and their own experiences of systems, the place of newsreels/cinemagazines in their collection, and their general approach to cataloguing newsreels/cinemagazines in their context.
- Cataloguing exercise discussion: Sharing information on how the participants approached the task.
