Round Table Meetings on Audio-Visual Records

Shortly after the approval of the UNESCO Recommendation for the Safeguarding and Preservation of Moving Images by the UNESCO General Conference at its 21st session in Belgrade on 27 October 1980, the main international associations with an interest in audiovisual archiving (initially FIAF, FIAT-IFTA, ICA, IASA, and IFLA) decided to get together once a year to exchange information and increase cooperation between them on common projects or events. These annual meetings, which were known as "Round Table Meetings on Audio-Visual Records", went on until the late 1990s, when this informal discussion forum was replaced by the better structured Co-ordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA).
