Hello!


I am looking for experiences and best practises when cataloguing cast and credits.


- Are you using in-house rules? Do you refer to a controlled vocabulary which already exists?


- What is your minimum data set for credits when you catalogue manually?


- What format do you use/prefer or have you encountered more often: directed by/editing/camera etc. versus director/editor/cameraman?

Hi, 


I prefer controlled vocabulary though sometime not possible. The cast and credit list in Indian cinema is long because of the "musical" aspect. 


Though, I limit certain cedits as mendatory. Rest go in a text free column with their designation written in bracket after the name. 


I like single nouns (director, editor, cinematographer) than using by and -ing etc.
