2021 FIAF Commissions' Workshops

This year, with the FIAF Congress unfortunately cancelled, we will be holding the Commissions' workshops as a Zoom webinar. Attendance is open to all for free (within a limit of 500 participants). To attend the workshops, please register HERE. You will then receive a confirmation email, as well as a reminder an hour before the event.

Note that simultaneous translation (English/French/Spanish) will be available.

Technical Commission workshop

The Technical Commission will focus on the latest chapter of the Digital Statement, which addresses ethical digital image restoration. There will be a short update on other projects, and time for comments from the audience.

Programming and Access to Collections Commission workshop

PACC workshop will comprise of a series of short interventions by most of the commission's expert members.
The topics will include digital deposit of non-national films, film heritage markets, the turbulent development within the US film studios and many more.
Such a broad scale of the program should be representative of the issues, topics and projects that PACC follows, develops and contributes to.

Cataloguing and Documentation Commission workshop

The Cataloguing and Documentation Commission invites you to attend our workshop, where we will elaborate on the activities undertaken by its members over the past year on behalf of the FIAF community. Specific projects will be highlighted, including the International Directory of Film related Collections and Libraries, the Treasures from the Film Archives, Linked Open Data for film archives, and The FIAF Moving Image Manual revision. We look forward to this opportunity to share our work with the wider community, and welcome your questions or comments.
