The Secretariat of the Filmoteka Narodowa in Warszawa informs that Mr. Janusz Rau has been appointed as the new Director General by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Mr Rau was born in 1962 and has obtained a Master degree at the University of Lodz.

During the recent Toronto International Film Festival in September 2007, the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) presented Peter Bogdanovich (actor, director, writer, and historian) with the 2007 FIAF Award, for his contributions in the fields of film preservation and restoration.

The IFI today announced the availability of a definitive filmography of works connected to writer Samuel Beckett. Its production was funded and commissioned by the Centenary Festival and the Irish Film Institute.
