The Bulgarian National Film Archive announced that on 8th June 2010, Mr. Plamen Maslarov, director of the BNF, passed away.
Ms. Antonia Kovacheva, Head of International Relations of the BNF, recals that "Plamen was a real artist, who kept working until his last breath. He was entirely devoted to his work, to his art and to his friends. For him cinema was both, a personal creative inspiration and a cultural heritage that must be preserved for the future generations. During his last moments in life, Plamen, whose name means flame, was directing his new feature film at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. He made over 50 documentary and 20 feature films, lot of TV productions as screenwriter, director and producer."
"We have lost not only a caring head of our institution, but a real talent and friend, whose gift to enjoy life and passion for cinema will be deeply missed", said Kovacheva.
