George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film announces the appointment of Dr. Paolo Cherchi Usai to the position of senior curator of motion pictures, a title he held from 1994 to 2004.

The Spring sessions of the FIAF Executive Committee (EC) and the FIAF General Assembly (GA) took place at the National Library of South Africa (NLSA) in Pretoria, April 8-10 and April 16, 2011, under the wise leadership of Mandy Gilder and with the efficient cooperation of her colleagues.

The George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film currently has an opening for a Curator of Motion Pictures. This is a full-time senior management position reporting to the Ron and Donna Fielding Director.

The National Film & Sound Archive (NFSA) aspires to be the world’s premier archive of Australian film, sound and emerging media cultural heritage. Its primary responsibility is to manage the national audiovisual collection and to build, preserve, interpret and make it accessible.

The 2010 fall session of the FIAF Executive Committee (EC) was held at the David Packard Campus of the Library of Congress, in Culpeper, USA. Silvan Furlan (1953-2005) was, up to his premature and unexpected death, one of the central personalities of Slovenian cinema in the last 30 years.

Ms. Maria João Seixas, director of the Cinemateca Portuguesa - Museu do Cinema in Lisbon, informs that Mr. José Manuel Costa has been appointed as deputy director of the institution. José Manuel is well known of many of our FIAF colleagues. We wish him success in his new position.
